Who we are

This website is published by Seelaw LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15755364, whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. You can contact us at info@findwildswimming.com.

What we collect

You do not need an account to use this site, and there is no form on it that sends anything to us.

Server logs. Like any website, this one is served by a hosting provider that keeps standard technical logs, including the IP address a request came from, the browser used, the page requested and the time. We use these to deliver the site, to keep it working and to deal with misuse. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site.

Correspondence. If you write to us, we hold your email address, your message and anything you attach, and we use them to deal with the matter you have raised. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. We will not add you to a mailing list.

Cookies and analytics

We set no cookies. Nothing on this site stores information on your device or reads information from it, which is why you are not asked to accept cookies.

We use a privacy-focused analytics service to count visits. It sets no cookies, creates no persistent identifier for you, does not retain your IP address, and does not follow you between websites, between devices or from one day to the next. What we receive is aggregate statistics, such as how many people read a page and which sites they arrived from. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, and you may object at any time by writing to us.

Who we share it with

A small number of service providers process personal data on our behalf, under contract and on our instructions. They fall into four categories: hosting and content delivery, database and file storage, website analytics, and email. Some operate outside the United Kingdom, and where they do we rely on the safeguards that UK data protection law requires for international transfers.

Some pages load content from other organisations, such as map tiles. Those providers receive your IP address in order to send the file to your browser.

We do not sell your personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to profile you. We will disclose personal data where the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

Server logs are held for a short period, for as long as our hosting provider needs them to run and secure the service. Analytics statistics are aggregate and contain no personal data, so they are kept without a set period. Correspondence is kept while the matter it relates to is live and is then deleted.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to our use of it, and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these rights, write to info@findwildswimming.com. There is no charge, and we will respond within one month.

If you appear in a photograph on this site and would like it removed, write to the same address and tell us which page it is on. We will remove it.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, by telephone on 0303 123 1113, or by post at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, SK9 5AF.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data relating to children.
